In the first and second year of study, 10 compulsory subjects are studied each. In the third and fourth year of study, 10 subjects are studied each, of which 6 are compulsory, and 4 subjects are chosen by the student from the 12 offered. The Head of the Study Program advises students on the specific choice of 8 electives from the list of 24 subjects. During the studies, laboratory exercises and practical – field teaching are performed.
Students who successfully complete this program receive a joint diploma from the State University in Novi Pazar and the Faculty of Agriculture of the University of Belgrade.
The purpose of the study program is the education of experts in the field of agricultural production, who can perform various tasks that require the application of modern knowledge from this field, as well as training students for further training.
Highly educated experts in the field of agricultural production are necessary for the proper management of resources and increasing their value, because the imperative of the times is the organization of rational and sustainable production.
Agricultural engineers are trained to:
* application of modern technologies in the production of health-safe foodstuffs;
* adequate organization of efficient and effective production with maximum economic effects, with rigorous product quality control;
* implementation of the necessary quality standards in the production of agricultural products;
After acquired knowledge in the fields of chemistry, biology, informatics, pedology, genetics, animal husbandry, phytopharmacy, crop and vegetable growing, fruit growing and viticulture, plant protection technology, organic plant production, beekeeping, fisheries, agricultural mechanization, management in agriculture, technology in fruit growing, technology of animal products, horticulture, food safety and quality, quality management in agribusiness and farm management, the program of basic academic studies in agricultural production should ensure the achievement of the following goals:
that graduated students understand and know how to apply the acquired knowledge in solving practical problems,
training students for independent application of knowledge in agriculture, food industry, in state, administrative and local self-government bodies, in education, as well as in other economic entities,
training for the application of their knowledge, understanding and ability to solve problems in a new or unknown environment, as well as in wider or multidisciplinary contexts, which are related to the technical-technological field.
Competences that the student acquires at the end of the study program refer to:
* the ability to understand and solve problems in different situations that arise during work related to the biotechnical scientific field;
* the ability to integrate knowledge in solving complex problems;
* the ability to market and publish various scientific and professional information, give opinions and exchange ideas;
* the ability to apply acquired fundamental knowledge from biotechnical and related natural sciences;
* the ability of efficient scientific communication; forming an attitude about the necessity of permanent improvement.
After obtaining the joint diploma, the student can continue his studies at the University of Belgrade – Faculty of Agriculture for master’s, specialist and doctoral studies.
